At Christmas time, the gift may be the high point, but how it is given can also tell a story. A young woman opens a gift from her spouse, and inside that box is another wrapped box. And inside that box is another wrapped box. And on in on it goes till she arrives at a little box containing a beautiful diamond ring. The way a gift is presented tells us a lot about how the giver feels about the recipient and emphasizes the gift. When God gave his greatest gift to humanity, he could have delivered it any way he wished. But he wrapped it in swaddling clothes and then laid it in a feeding trough. What does it mean that God's perfect son was laid in such an imperfect situation?
